My Favourite Products From Rare Beauty that’s Worth a Try

Being always on the lookout for the best beauty products, I have used a variety of brands over the years. But I must say, there’s one brand that has stolen my heart (and makeup bag) like no other — Rare Beauty.

Launched by the super-talented Selena Gomez, Rare Beauty is not just another cosmetics collection. There’s just something so uplifting about Rare Beauty’s whole vibe.

The very first time I used Rare Beauty is still vividly in my mind. It was at the same time the brand was launched and I fell in love with Selena’s idea of creating make-up that puts the stress on being who you are instead of covering something up. As a self-conscious person myself, that message meant a lot to me.

So, the first few Rare Beauty products I bought totally stunned me! Unbelievable quality, but that’s about it, they just made me feel… rare and radiant.

Skip to today, my Rare Beauty collection has multiplied ten times. At this stage, you could call me a professional Rare Beauty hoarder! But who would blame me? These products are must-have products.

1. Liquid Touch Weightless Foundation

Girls, this foundation is, indeed, a game-changer for me in my makeup routine! The moment I used it for the first time I fell in love with the natural, skin-like finish it creates. Although it is extremely light and very easy to blend, it is also buildable and covers all the imperfections providing that ‘filtered real-life selfie’ look.

Having combination skin that tends to get shiny throughout the day, I was not expecting that this foundation would keep you fresh and glowing without being cakey or separating. It is simply the perfect skin match.

But the shade range is what won me over completely — it’s insane! Having battled for years to find the perfect match, Rare Beauty’s wide range of shades eventually provided me with my complexion twin. I hereby declare this an A+++ complexion product that is perfect in all respects!

2. Liquid Touch Brightening Concealer

After falling in love with the Rare Beauty foundation, you know I had to grab the matching concealer! This little lightening miracle is an ultimate multitasker that brightens my entire face.

There it offers seamless coverage that instantly illuminates and flashes away that dull, fatigue look. The formula is extremely lightweight and does not crease or settle into fine lines throughout the day. It simply resembles my rested, energised self!

Also, the only doe-foot applicator makes it very easy to get into all those nooks and crannies around the nose, cupid’s bow and sides of the face for brightening and sculpting. With this powerhouse concealer and longwear foundation, I’ve got my perfect radiant base!

3. Soft Pinch Liquid Blush

Get ready to be obsessed, y’all! Liquid blush formula of Rare Beauty is actually a dream-come-true for blush lovers like me. These light, ultra-blendable liquids, become one with the skin, giving you the most heavenly, flushed from within look that truly lasts morning, noon, and night.

The shades are so lovely too — my top picks are the rosy nude Joy and the mauvy mauve Grace. They both go hand in hand with my complexion products for a harmonious, from-within glow.

I simply dot a couple of drops onto the apples of my cheeks and blend upwards towards my temples with a sponge for the easiest and most soft-focus-looking blush.

These blushes are making you look like you are silver fresh and naturally glowing. These are ideal “your skin but better” type of products!

4. Positive Light Liquid Luminizer Highlighter

I have used more highlighters than I can remember over the years, however, Rare Beauty’s liquid luminizers are something else! Luminous look, awakening replenishment, and instant moisture are what this elixir like products have to offer.

Literally dotting a few drops around my cheekbones, cupid’s bow, the nose and inner corners and I’m rewarded with the most other-worldly, wet glass-like sheen. The glow is so lustrous and luminous, however, it contains no harsh glitters or shimmers — just a lovely smooth shine.

The most desirable shades are Transcend, a beautiful champagne that works on a variety of skin tones, and Mesmerize, a luxurious, molten golden sheen. These highlighters make you look inner-glow luminosity, and you’ll love it!

5. Lip Souffle Matte Cream Lipstick

The awards and praises for these lipsticks by Rare Beauty are not enough! They are the real definition of how comfortable a matte lip product can be. The formula slides onto lips like melted butter, but has amazing longwear power without the drying, or the cracking.

It is the lightest, creamiest lip mask that still gives you that most sought-after matte finish. Miraculously, Rare Beauty staff managed to achieve such a satin-to-matte finish that is weightless and lasts for hours without any kind of transfer.

I am very much crazy about the shades such as Brave (a bright raspberry red), Revived (a muted terracotta nude), and Daring (a deep rosewood). They are everything subtle and daring that suits every look, skin tone.

6. Perfect Strokes Universal Volumizing Mascara

When a mascara formula instantly transforms your lashes into super thick, fanned out ‘falsies’, you know it’s the A game! Volumizing mascara of Rare Beauty is one of these rare gems that totally changes my lashes.

Just a little of this inky black magic is all it takes to carry, bend, and volumize even my short, straight lashes into feathery perfection. It produces extremely gentle, fluttering volume free of clumping or spiking. My lashes are literally two levels up resolution-wise.

However, even with all that va-va-voom, the formula is very light and flexible — never crunchy or stiff. It is appropriate for wearing all day long without any smearing, flaking or running. It is the entire package for truly making your eyes pop!

7. Blot & Glow Touch-Up Kit

Every time I’m outside and require a short makeup refresh, this compact is a full lifesaver! One side has very cute mini blotting papers with vitamins to softly remove any oil, sweat or shine.

Then you just turn it around and you have a radiant, soft-focus setting powder that blurs blemishes and helps to softly even out your complexion. It is nothing but a compact glow-up! The powder provides you with the most radiant, fresh-faced result and effectively mattifies all oily zones.

It is a brilliant combination of two useful actions that fight shine and help you to freshen up anywhere anytime. Nothing is caking, oxidising, or over-drying here!

8. Always An Optimist 4-in-1 Prime & Set Mist

Lastly, this multitasking face mist is a real God’s send in a bottle! It also serves as a great makeup primer and setting spray, as well as a skin refresher in between makeup applications.

The ultra-fine mist makes all the complexion products flow together so harmoniously, and simply leaves you with a glowing, dewy, moisture-fresh perfection. It’s not tacky or overly-dewy, just a healthy glow!

And then, you can spritz it over a face any time to refresh your makeup and bring about an immediate hit of moisturising glow. The aroma is also very nice and uplifting — sort of a mini aromatherapy. The message of self-love, individuality and inner beauty is embedded in every product. I feel powerful and comfortable with them.
