Lucky Chip El Chappo

Aged beef patty, smoked bacon, roasted jalapeños, blue cheese & aioli.

Lucky Chip has been on my radar for quite some time. Since the first moment that I locked my lips around those buns at national burger day 2 years ago, I knew I had to come back to try the real thing. Let me tell you, 2 years is not a wait that I am willing to go through again.

The cheese was so plentiful that it spilled out of of the burger, leaving a puddle of delicious creaminess. Normally with blue cheese this would be a problem due to its overpowering flavour and pungent aroma, but this was subtle, creamy and juicy.

How refreshing was it that they went for a sesame seed bun instead of the overused brioche? Soft as a pillow, and perfectly held it’s shape.

The Patty was thick and charred, flowing with deep and meaty flavours that you would expect from one of the top dogs around.

Lucky chip is not a good burger, it is a great burger and one of the big dogs in the game. This is one of the juiciest burgers you’ll ever get to eat, and it is followed up with enough flavour to keep you satisfied for hours. When it gets to the point where your only complaint is that the patty was ever so slightly less tender than the bun, then you know you’re really clutching at straws.
