These poems are written adlib, in the space of 5 minutes, they may not be great yet they satisfy my need to write a poem, once in a while. Please applaud if you like them, or not if you don’t — comments are welcome. always, either way….

I went out for some fresh air –

I went out for some fresh air –

Down the hill — with the rolinator

An x-fold model, so convenient

That I was able to walk upright

Straight and strong, like the once

Whisper of the girl I had been once.

I went into shops, bought some strange

Exotic foods, turning my head to strong tastes –

And simplicity, watching the societal cosmos,

Swirl their complicated patterns around.

Fill the air with their radio waves, and

Collapse into sound.

I was tempted into ice-cream,

And tiny Easter eggs, in a bag, for later

When the world is young again,

Because spring takes a hand.

I fell about coughing, apostrophes!

Explosive sounds! It appears that:

Fresh air, has just not been made…

The air that we swim in, is tainted.

With acid, with germs we don’t name.

How long before we no-longer appear.

And simple food shops go online, and

The town’s shops disappear.

Life in the UK, will never be the same,

For a nation of shopkeepers –

Have left their own game,

Monopoly will reign and all the bills

Around the board, will have to be paid.

No one to swim, no one to go gym,

No one to participate, the air is bad…

When the payments are no longer made,

The world here is dead.

I’m retired now, and write for pleasure and to keep my skills. My books sell, and I was picked up by an agent, and am now in shops.
