Using the belt sander to fix my mistake

These images show one of the finger joints which I needed to round off in the belt sander to continue the desired curve and rounded effect of the chair. The reason I couldn’t do this initially was because I did not leave enough room for the finger joints. A mis-communication error and a reminder that I always need to check important joints. I had to use two different sized belt sanders, the sander needing to be one third of the radius of the curve so that the machine did not spin the piece out of control. I also needed to be sure to go against the spin of the sander, against the grain. I put pencil marks in to sand towards and then traced the second side of the chair against the first to maximise similarity.

Post bely sander, continuing the curve as a result of the wrong distances left for the finger joint — before sanding
