Since 2016 & Meghan Markle’s arrival on the celebrity world’s stage as girlfriend then wife of the “World’s Most Eligible Bachelor” Britain’s Prince Harry she’s kept the tabloids & social media full of drama. With a “holier than thou attitude” & “do as I say not as I do” outlook on life she managed to survive only 79 royal engagements before throwing in the towel & returning to the United States with Prince Harry in tow. The 32 million dollar wedding, private planes, vacations, million dollar wardrobe, a platform like no other to do good was still not good enough and she continued to whine & complain resulting in her popularity plummeting & has become a very controversial person.

After hearing all this I’m quite sure you might ask “What exactly do you mean by stating she created a constant stream of controversy & drama?” This question has so many possible instances of her behavior that it’s difficult tog just select “one instance” but after thinking & contemplating about it for quite some time I have decided to tell you about her “Cartier Bracelet”.

The famous “Cartier Love bracelet” is one of the most unique and iconic pieces of jewelry in the world. The bracelet was designed in 1969 by Aldo Cipullo in a small New York workshop. This bracelet changed the jewelry industry as it wasn’t made to be worn with a specific outfit or for a certain occasion but designed to be worn all the time. It comes designed in an oval shape so it’s close to the skin & then is tightened with two screws onto the wrist with a specially enclosed screwdriver. Rumors claims it’s design origin was inspired by the design aspects of chastity belts and handcuffs. The Cartier bracelet is sometimes dubbed as the “modern love handcuff, slave bracelet or the love bracelet”.

Now going back in time to September 10th 2011 which is the date that Meghan Markle & Trevor Engelson got married at the luxurious Ocho Rios resort in Jamaica. They had a beautiful 4 day beachfront wedding with 107 family and friends present. Trevor made the day even more special for Meghan by surprising her with a Cartier love bracelet a beautiful way to always remember this special day.

Unfortunately not even 2 years later their wedding reached it’s expiry date. Trevor had the surprise of a lifetime when out of the blue a parcel arrived in the post which contained the wedding rings he had lovingly given Meghan. He was in total shock and felt like he was no more to her than dirt under her shoe. Then to make things even worse divorce papers were included & Meghan had already started the proceedings. The one thing not returned in the package was the Cartier bracelet.

Now if we revert to the present, Meghan has remarried to British Prince Harry & at present reside in Montecito California in a $15 million mansion with 16 bathrooms (which makes it approximately $1,000,000 per bathroom, just saying).

Since a little Meghan has always only had one ambition which is to be a Hollywood A lister celebrity, filthy rich, loved & famous world wide. Unfortunately Meghan was only a D list actress and to make matters worse she was in her late 30s with the TV series (Suits) she had been in for 5 years now ending. She couldn't find any foreseeable acting roles for the future so she did the next best thing and he went to England to look for a rich husband and hooked Prince Harry. Meghan only lasted 72 royal engagements before she wanted to go back to the United States with Harry in tow. The duo said they wanted out of the media spotlight, to make their own money and to live a quiet life,

In reality the opposite has actually happened and the duo crave media attention so much that they regularly pay for puff pieces about themselves to be featured in the media. Another tactic they use is staging paparazzi photos shoots or pay for trophies.

Now almost 8 years later Meghan Markle still wears the Cartier bracelet in almost every photo op or public appearance she makes. This makes many wonder if she's doing this because she’s still in love with Trevor or is it possible that she might be trying to make Trevor’s new wife jealous? Could it be a childish way of her trying to make Prince Harry jealous?

We will probably never know the real reason why she constantly wears this bracelet but no matter what the reason is she’s married to a Prince & it just doesn't look good for her as a Duchess to be wearing jewelry from her previous marriage & given to her by her ex-husband.

Meghan still wearing this bracelet could be controversial on another level as well because the bracelet has been dubbed the “slave bracelet, love bracelet or the lovers handcuff” and is made for couples. Meghan continually defines herself as a “feminist and a strong independent woman” so the bracelet & Meghan’s beliefs portray a confused, mixed message. Meghan also preaches the narrative that she doesn't want to be “defined by titles or ranks”. This is also quite confusing since Meghan constantly goes by her Duchess of Sussex title ( which isn’t recognized in the USA) & not her name. In short this is another instance of Meghan & Harry chalking it up to “do as I say, not as I do”.
