In Web 3.0, Artists have no place, Thanks to this AI!

Lately, I came across many artists including 3D artists on social media platform like ClubHouse and Twitter Spaces who thinks theirs time has come and their value will be realised thanks to Web 3.0.

Given I have foot each in both Web 3.0 and AI domain I can see what these artists are not seeing and celebrating without knowing there is nothing in store for them.

Before I tell which AI, let me tell you I am one among those who think Web 3.0 is for real and not like Elon Musk or Jack Dorsey, who rant without knowing much into this field.

With advent of Web 3.0 especially the metaverses, one thing is sure startups and enterprise needs artists especially 3D modellers in abundance. This is what keep artists happy, but here is one party pooper, AI- GAN AI, to be precise GANVerse3D. I will come to that in a little while, let’s do a quick comparison.

To build 3D scenes, character meshes, textures, shaders, lighting. It’s a tough task and manual labour takes hours and hours before a single piece come to the table. With current demand, enterprises needs something that can generate scenes and characters within few seconds. This is where GANVerse3D comes.

Generative Adversarial Networks, or GANs for short, are an approach to generative modeling using deep learning methods, such as convolutional neural networks.

This is what is the outcome at Nividia 3D labs that a GANVerse3D can do.

Developed by the NVIDIA AI Research Lab in Toronto, the GANverse3D application inflates flat images into realistic 3D models that can be visualized and controlled in virtual environments. This capability could help architects, creators, game developers and designers easily add new objects to their mockups without needing expertise in 3D modeling, or a large budget to spend on renderings.

A single photo of a car, for example, could be turned into a 3D model that can drive around a virtual scene, complete with realistic headlights, tail lights and blinkers.

So, dear artists, please re-skill and jump onto different board. This new world of Web3.0 especially metaverses has little to offer to you guys. Good Luck !!
