“The most unfit client I’ve ever trained…”

  • RYPT looks within
  • * What is the best formula for instant results?

The good thing about this blog title is that it’ll get more attention than most of my other blogs!

As humans we love gossip and being made to feel better (even through the demise of others). Before you read on, I’m not going to badmouth anyone.

One of the biggest fears of new clients is: “I’m so unfit, how will I cope?” Well firstly, RYPT is designed for people like this and secondly, gyms are not always the answer.

I’m not going to adopt the idea that the gym is for everyone. I’ll be the first to admit that on a nice day I’d rather be running outside!

Besides, fitness itself isn’t for everyone. Other people find their happiness through other means and I respect that. The last thing I want is to coach people who don’t want to be there.

Working in a budget gym, it is difficult to attract people to my packages (which are more all inclusive than just a basic plan).

I started out with the mentality of I’d better start low and work up. In actual fact, all sales strategies advise going from the top and selling down – that was a hard lesson to learn.

Yesterday j attended a business networking event. This was a first for me and it’s the start of my realisation that the best way to get new clients isn’t through online marketing but face-to-face.

See, I’ve been trying for a long time to use online advertising but it’s simply not worked. I’ve spent so much money and time trying to get new clients through that means. It’s not for lack of trying, I’ve read numerous books, watched webinars, attended workshops etc – all in vain.

As I’ve quoted from Einstein before: “insanity is doing the same thing over and over again whilst expecting different results.” It’s like trying to fit a square peg in a round hole.

Like I mentioned in Wednesday’s blog, one of the most frustrating things is the ease at which others / professionals do these things! People make it seem easy to sit behind a computer and sell thousands of pounds worth of plans.

At the end of the day, I could have saved lots of money and effort by doing the basics. Similarly when it comes to my coaching ideology, over-complication always fails.

There is so much information out there that’s it easy to get dragged down and lost.

Remember:

Simplicity + Consistency = Results.

That’s a hard pill to swallow but it’s fact. Adverts and marketing want you to believe otherwise!

One you swallow a piece of humble pie, you can begin to truly make progress.

I mentioned in a blog a few weeks ago that I was selling a lot of the junk that I had and I’m still doing so. It’s amazing how powerful this is in bringing clarity. Diverting attention and focus onto what actually matters is powerful.

In everyday life we get dragged along and in my case it was making lots of unnecessary purchases (trying to spread my happiness) in actual fact, I should have invested more (not just money but time) into other areas rather than being materialistic.

For me, normally this stems from being so busy that I make mindless spending decisions to make me happier.

This simplification process is equally enlightening.

When everyone has access to all the information (as we have with the Internet), channeling it down into a manageable and logical structure is where the professionals are a class above.

Anyone was follow a YouTube exercise video but without structure or routine, it won’t be motivational or sustainable!

If you really want to make a change to your life, sign up to the free RYPT app trial today. I’ll get to know you and your fitness goals (regardless of location) and design a personal training plan FOR YOU. Subsequently, this will be uploaded into the app for you to complete workouts.

It’s simple (yet retains the value of having a fitness professional), effective (I have six years of getting results for clients) and works (see the testimonials on the website).

So the only question is: why are you waiting?

(And to answer the question of the most unfit client I’ve ever trained – probably myself when I began getting into fitness!)

Outdoor Fitness will be on Wednesday and Friday next week (due to a change in plans). Other than that, we have just four sessions left before Small-Group PT begins in October!
