One thing I have noticed in my country is that we don’t trust people easily; this is not a bad thing at all. We have this issue because of our past experiences and also, stories of people who must have had their trust trampled on. In Nigeria, our trust problem is quite unique and very hilarious (at times). We find it difficult to trust our neighbors, colleagues, family members, friends and even ourselves. The funny part is, we find it difficult to trust machines too, especially the ATM.
I had a photo-walk on Monday and I took this picture during the photo-walk around Lagos Island, Lagos State, Nigeria. When I saw the way this man bent down to properly look at the ATM, the first thing that came to my mind was; “You this machine, you can’t cheat me ooo, never!”
Trust is a very delicate topic/idea, people have lost their lives, money, properties and other valuable items because they trusted certain people. These people placed their trust in someone but they were stabbed in the back by the same person. Be very careful who you trust but don’t be too much of a “Thomas”. Nonetheless, the best person you can trust is God.
Trust the Lord completely, and don’t depend on your own knowledge. — Proverbs 3:5 (Easy to Read Version)
Hope the weekend has been good?
