Why we do Rove.me

It’s great to acknowledge that travelling has become so easy today and the plane can get us to any corner of the planet. ‘Around the World in Eighty Days’ is no longer an unfeasible endeavor, as all you have to do is book a plane ticket!

Whilst the passion for adventure still provides a strong incentive for us to travel, when it comes to choosing the destination and planning a trip, our primary focus tends to be on finding cheap flights. Hunting for the best ticket deals makes it so easy to forget the real reason why we travel — to experience something different, something new and authentic.

However, the best price does not always guarantee the best experiences. Our search for a bargain means that we risk missing out on some amazing things —unique events and activities, seasonal food, natural phenomena, a less crowded season or the best weather.

It is important to remember that the world has more than 10,000 travel destinations, and 2,000 of them worth visiting, while about 200 are a must-see. Even if you travel 3–4 times a year, you will need more than 50 years just to visit the places from the must-see list. Most of these destinations you will visit only once in a lifetime!

That is why we encourage you to be more demanding about what you get from your journeys, and choose the right time to make it truly exciting and memorable.

Choosing the right time for a trip isn’t as easy as it may seem. While information on the weather and events is rather simple to find, discovering the unique experiences a destination has to offer takes a lot of time and research. There is currently no one single resource to help you in your search—you have to browse dozens of blogs, forums, and other travel websites yourself.

That is why we are building Rove.me — a comprehensive travel guide that recommends the best time to visit a destination based on the experiences it offers—the real reasons to make a trip.

Our ambition is to change the way people travel—to make it a habit to check for the best time before planning a trip, thus guaranteeing the best possible travel experience.
