The future in knowledge.

1000 years ago people in the Middle ages knew nothing, you might argue (or at least very little). Nobody noticed the world was spherical instead of flat. “haha, how could they ever have thought that”, is the main reaction I encounter in conversations about how far we’ve come. But think about how the Vikings for example perceived themselves, while ruling the North Sea. It lies in human nature to think of ourselves as the very best. Even these men and women were under the impression of being insanely smart and the only that mattered.

Next time you laugh at the stupidity of historical persons, realise men of the future will laugh at you for knowing so little; about our universe, maybe other life forms, energy consumption , climate, Medicine, artificial intelligence, genetic manipulation and so on.

Everybody contributes to these improvements in their own way. Don’t be ignorant to think we are even slightly smarter then our own ancestors. Be humble over our lack of knowledge.
