The Hackers Meetup — Application Security edition
The Hacker’s Meet-Up is a proper platform for the cybersecurity researchers as well as security enthusiast people who really inserted to learn something and take an exposure of latest trends and issues in cybersecurity, deep dive into security domain and build a community.
They are doing Monthly Meet-Ups to provide a dedicated platform for the cybersecurity researchers as well as security enthusiast people who really inserted to learn something and take an exposure of latest trends and issues in cybersecurity, deep dive into security domain and build a community. It is fully focused on Cyber Security research of Independent security researchers, who finds the vulnerability, gain knowledge and try to do something out of the box with his enthusiasm, hard work and love for security.
The Aim of this Meet-up is to share knowledge with others, aware people about the cybersecurity, meet & greet, do networking with fellow like-minded people and establish a community, which is super awesome and stan out this meetup and glad that I have been part of speaker panel for this Application Security edition.
So as said earlier, this “The Hackers Meetup” is an Application Security special edition, in which Amazing Security experts gather at one platform to share their knowledge and expertise with security enthusiasts.
More about my talk details can be found here;
Since it was application security edition I had shared more information about application and server securities. The cherry here is was the audience was very interactive during the session and most of the people from the audience were working professionals so I had a great fun while Q/A fire round.
Some of the key points that I have shared with them are;
- Patch the Operating System
- Patch Third Party Applications
- Disable Remote Root Access
- Restrict Root Privileges
- Enable and Customise Firewall
- Encrypt Network Transmissions
- Multi-Factor Authentication
- Centralized Authentication
- Security-Enhanced Linux (SELinux)
- Enforce Strong Passwords
- Securing the BIOS & Bootloader
In my point of view, security is the quality or state of being secure.
The attendees wanted to know more about application security and how SSO works but the sad part is I had a limited time and other speakers were also awaited but I’ve promised them I will ask the organizer to arrange special meetup or workshops for this. Moreover, some working professional really likes how it’s easy to set up your any application with Auth0, I’ve highly recommended them to use the open-source edition and try to implement that in their environment.
Such amazing participants.
