I’ll add a few more “it’s brokens.”
* Untrained hiring managers brought up through the technical ranks who may understand the job they’re hiring for, but not basic personnel management, of which recruiting is part.
* Hiring managers who hire to justify the value of their own job, and not to fill in areas where their team is lacking.
* Companies that use temporary recruiters, who honestly aren’t motivated to bring in quality hires as they’ll be gone by the time bad hires have an impact.
* Failure to hold hiring managers accountable for their role in recruiting.
