Chia seeds are full of Omega 3 fatty acids which help your cardiovascular health & to ease inflammation. They are also high in fibre & help level our blood sugar. However these little seeds can cause constipation and bloating in some individuals as they draw water from our bowel & swell in your intestines.
A tip to prevent this is to soak your chia seeds overnight before adding them to your shake or even make a chia seed pudding out of them.
Cacao & Chia Seed Breakfast Pudding (Sugar Free)
In a bowl place 40g chia seeds, 9g cacao powder, pinch cinnamon, 255ml Vitasoy unsweetened coconut milk and a few drops of liquid stevia to taste. Stir to combine.
Cover with plastic wrap and place in the fridge overnight.
Add 30g greek yoghurt to the chia mixture and stir to combine.
Place in servicing bowl & top with 40g yoghurt, 3 sliced strawberries and 10g pistachios or pepitas.
