Life is either a GREAT adventure or nothing… 🚴🏻💨

As a 3-time AIDS/LifeCycle participant, it never ceases to amaze me the overwhelming feeling I get leading into the week long ride. Just this past weekend, I was so worried that I’m not as prepared physically or mentally as I have been in previous ALC. Thoughts of 6 to 7-hour days on the saddle, climbing hills, sleeping in tents, 4:30am alarm clocks or the possibility of chaffing — Chamois Butt’r, best invention ever — makes me anxious.

“I just want a smile on my face”

But my teammate Derek Otte, a 1st-time ALC rider, assured me that his goals are to complete each day surrounded by riders and with a big smile on his face. That’s a great attitude for someone who has only been in the ring for a few months.

So in the remaining 2 1/2 weeks before ALC, I will continue my training with a positive attitude and make this experience a great adventure.
