Perseverance in writing

You know I’d order the book if I had the coinage, John. I’ll request my library get it. Then I promise to make a copy at work.

Your post hit me where it hurts. I loved writing creatively and took communications as my major. Sure enough, a professor laid down the “you’ll be lucky if” speech on an entire class. This came on the heels of some high school advice from a teacher I respected the heck out of, but he held back with the “do what makes you happy” words for fear of a lawsuit or some other crap.

I know a teacher is supposed to give you perspective about the ways of the real world, but why can’t that translate to “do it anyway and the money will come.”
