Good Samaritan Backfire

I can’t add my own experience as luckily nothing like this has happened to me but it does serve as a cautionary tale regarding the military direction that law enforcement is taking throughout North America. Civilians are no longer seen as the public to be served, they are increasingly being treated as enemy combatants in the war on drugs / terror / crime / vandalism (you fill in the blanks).

Police officers are the servants of the people and are financed by citizens. Something is radically wrong when the law-abiding are treated in such a cavalier fashion. One is led to wonder if the plight of the poor is exacerbated and petty crime encouraged through such abysmal police behaviour.
