WHY WRITE?

Enjoyed the post, particularly the Flannery quote. I write for similar reasons as she did, to get thoughts out and see them solidified on paper. Until that point they swim like darting tropical fish — shiny and beautiful, but too fast to see clearly.

I also write to create something beautiful. To craft a poem is to sculpt the sound, shape, and ideas of words into an expression of life. With poetry I capture a truth and carve it into solidity.
