Understanding the Venture Capital Landscape: Technology

Welcome back! This post is the second half of my venture capital overview. You can find the first post here, which gives a high level overview of the prominent trends, deals and investors in the healthcare industry. This post is intended to provide a similar rundown of the technology landscape.

Technology Overview:

As everyone knows, the technology industry is massive. According to Forrester, the global technology industry is expected to grow 4% in 2018 and reach $3 trillion by the end of the year. Technology is disrupting every traditional industry, from finance to healthcare, transportation and even agriculture. As a result, it’s impossible to cover every aspect of the tech ecosystem in a single post. Instead, I’m going to highlight four tech sub-sectors that are receiving a significant amount of attention in the venture capital community: cloud computing, cybersecurity, blockchain and artificial intelligence.

Two quick notes before we dive in. First, each of these sections can be read independently so feel free to jump around and read the areas that are of most interest to you!
