I was a Software Development Department Manager for many many years. Our interview process was basically three steps, 1) Human Resource take in 2) Technical Interview and 3) a one on one with me….. old school that I am you could pass the technical with aces but if you did not pass my gut check you did not get a job. If I felt you were not a fit for the team the interview ended. I have found that you can teach the right person any skillset but the wrong personality on your team can kill whole projects. My advise is kill them with you personality not your skill set.
