SAP SD is a module in SAP ERP Central Component (ECC) that helps companies store and manage customer and product data. This data can be used to track sales, shipping, billing, and invoicing of goods and services. SAP SD is part of the Logistics module in SAP ECC and works with other modules, such as Production Planning (PP)

SAP SD is a core function in SAP ERP Central Component (ECC) that helps organizations store and manage customer and product data. This data is used to manage sales, shipping, billing, and invoicing for goods and services.

Working with the other modules, SAP SD helps manage an order-to-cash cycle. SD oversees the sales and distribution part of this process, according to SAP. In a typical cycle, SD creates a sales quote, the customer orders the product, it’s picked from a warehouse or production facility and sent to the customer, an invoice is created and accounts received

SD enables an order-to-cash cycle business process in conjunction with the other modules. SD handles all the details in the sales and distribution part of the cycle, according to SAP. In a typical cycle, SD generates a sales quote and the customer then places a sales order, the goods are picked from a warehouse or production facility and shipped to the customer, an invoice

In SAP SD, there are three different types of data: sales orders, product availability, and credit ratings. When a sales order is generated, for example, it creates a link to the product availability check, the credit check, or the tax calculation. This information is stored in centralized master data tables, which are used to create transactional data in SAP.

In SAP, SD transactions are based on the master data that is used to create them. This master data comes from centralized master data tables, which include customer data, pricing and materials. Master data is also used to create transactional data in other modules in SAP ECC.

The SAP SD module contains several sub-modules which can be configured to handle specific functions in the module, such as The SD-Master Data (SD-MD) tracks each transaction that affects the SD module’s data like customer data, materials data, price condition records, and credit management.

SD-Basic Functions (SD-BF) allows you to establish essentials, like pricing, checking stock and credit management. This will help you keep everything streamlined across SD.

SD-SLS oversees the sales process, ensuring customer data is accurate, products are listed correctly, prices are correct and customers are happy with their experience.

SD Shipping (SD-SHP) keeps track of the order shipping process, from when it’s ordered until it’s delivered or returned. This includes noting when and how the order is shipped.

SD-BIL manages billing data, including the amounts of the transactions and methods of payment. This information is critical for businesses to keep track of their expenses and revenue.
