Trade Days in Coldwater is held each year in June, August and October and benefits the Tate County Rescue Squad. Each month the event is held on Saturday and Sunday.
The Tate County Rescue Squad is a volunteer organization that assists police with search and rescue and water recovery and rescue.
Coldwater Trade Days is the biggest flea market in Northwest Mississippi and draws people from surrounding states such as Tennessee and Arkansas.
Approximately 360 vendors participate in Trade Days and they sell a variety of items.
Vendors pay 30 dollars to rent a regular lot and 45 to rent an electrical one.
Not all booths set up to sell items. Local Shriners raise money for the Shriner’s Hospital.
Trade days is known for its agricultural products. The event functions both as a flea market and a farmer’s market.
Fresh produce make up a lot of the goods that are sold by vendors at Trade Days.
Davis Farms, located in Oxford Mississippi, sells canned jams and fruits.
Many Vendors also sell animals such as chickens, rabbits, dogs and geese.
Wayne’s World of Weapons, located in Cordova Tennessee, sells knives, swords and both American and state flags at Trade Days.
Items for the home are popular among vendors. Many vendors produce the goods themselves.
Numerous booths featured clothing and accessories. The “Hats For All!” booth lives up to its name selling a wide variety of head wear.
Although produce is sold, food vendors are not allowed to purchase lots. Concessions are provided by local non-profits that are voted on by the Tate County Rescue Squad.
People walk towards their cars after shopping. The next Trade Days will be in June of 2017, and the lots are already sold out.
