Serena hasn’t been herself lately. She has been having sudden lapses of memory and acting like a completely different person — one she doesn’t like very much. To add to her confusion, she knows that someone has been following her. It all started the night an elderly woman helped her. Now Serena is beginning to wonder, who was that woman? And what has she done to Serena?

Review: This is one of my favorite books in the 13 book series. this book is about the Goddess Serena, who is “the Key”, the only one of the Goddesse’s who falls in love with a Follower & who in the end stays with the Follower in Newfundus to change the evil dark place into a place of light, as the key she has the power to do this. She ends up being the queen of Newfundus & remains a goddess, as the daughter of the Goddess Hetake of the dark moon. she then becomes immortal to stay with Stanton who becomes king of Newfundus.I love this book series, I have recommended the books to many young girls, & they all have loved them, the books have a good message, as it is the fight between “Good & Evil”. & in the end good always wins when we are willing to fight for good & sometimes sacrifice everything for it. they also exemplefy that girls are born with special gifts that can allow them to grow up to be superheroes too. that boys are not the only ones that can superheroes.

Review: This book has many good examples of why you should stay away from strangers. Serena almost lost a part of her true self and to the forces of darkness during her crazy adventure.

Review: I adore the idea that Lynne Ewing is using more Greek mythology in her books as she introduces Circe and Hekate especially into this book. We first met Hekate in Into The Cold Fire and then again in The Sacrifice, but she takes us a step farther with this and actually steps in to show her power through Serena. Some of the questions I had remaining from other books are finally answered in this book as well. Like what happened to Morgan and how the relationship between Serena and Stanton works out. Again, I love the reappearance of Stanton, whose entire life seems to be about sacrifice when it comes to love. The action starts up right away in this one and you find out what’s happening to Serena quickly, rather than waiting until near the end to hear it. I love Serena’s power the most of all the Daughters. Just reading the descriptions is really vivid and draws you in. I also love seeing Serena’s darker side as she realizes she’s the key.

Review: Possession begins with the myth of a young woman who bethrothed herself to the Atrox, Ursula, whose famous beauty was so reknowned all who looked at her felt blessed. But her unlucky fate was already decided at birth, when she was born clutching a jewel in her fist. Her peasant father rushed to the castle to get a priest, and when they returned, the jewel had vanished. Such was her fate; “all good would slip through her fingers”. In the present day, Serena Killingsworth, a Daughter of the Moon, is struggling with her life. Stanton, the guy she once loved (and still loves, though she won’t admit it to herself) has betrayed her by becoming the Prince of Night. Her heartache is so heavy it is like a constant stone crushing her chest. She hasn’t been sleeping or eating well… She dreams about Stanton visiting her at night, and though her line of clocks on her dresser is unmoved, these night visits still unnerve her. In the beginning, she is racing through the post-school crowd, she escapes the guy who is crushed on her, Mr. Wrong (Jerome) by cutting through an alleyway. There, she accidentally bumps (more like smashes) into an elderly woman. Serena is knocked to the ground. The woman uncaps a bottle and forces a strange brew into Serena’s mouth. Serena blacks out and when she wakes up, it’s nighttime. Soon she starts having nightmares, strange thoughts, and starts acting like a completely different person some of the time. It’s frightening her, and her friends. What’s going on with Serena and who was that woman!?

Review: The Stanton/Serena angst I can’t take it anymore! This book’s plot idea in general-good.The way it was carries out-*cringe*.Romantic angst is fine is small doses, but two whole books about it in the same series about the same couple is WAY too much. The plot seemed to serve one purpose make Serena even more confused about her feeling about Stanton and bring her closer to her dark side. There was no other purpose. the plot wasn’t even what held the book together. It was the romantic angst between Stanton and Serena.I like Stanton, but if I have to read another book like this I may just give up and start banging my head against the wall and give up. Basically Serena and Stanton’s love life is like a bad version of Romeo and Juliet-if you want feuds watch “West Side Story” it’s about three thousand times better.Another problem was everything was so freakin’ obvious when it came to the plot-ever heard of subtly. All the other Daughters’ relationships are second to the plot and that’s how it’s suppose to be unless you’re writing a romance novel then it IS the plot. But this is a grievance. We already had a book dealing with romantic angst between the two: It was “The Sacrifice” remember and it was better! Much better! But reading this book was a bit like plucking out my arm hairs one by one. I actually paid attention in math class (not that it helped) instead of reading this book which was a first. Here is my thoughts on the series so far: the second rotation through the DoTM was no where near as good as the first. I hope if we go through a third that it’s better.
