How can we move past the idea that diversity is a visual characteristic (i.e., race, gender)?
Boris Fowler

I don’t believe that we can “get past” the idea that diversity absolutely does include our physical identity until we acknowledge that our physical identity results in completely different life experiences. It’s not right or wrong. It just is. Until we accept that, fully, and begin to work on that, “diversity” for those who are underrepresented will be about race, gender expression, sexual orientation, and more.

Check out the first episode of my podcast where we dive into this exact topic on “what is diversity anyway” and how to think about it as we try to impact change:

One clap, two clap, three clap, forty?

By clapping more or less, you can signal to us which stories really stand out.
