Review: This book contains a large number of pictures for reference/practice. Although many of the reference sketches are poor quality scans and hard to distinguish some features. Most of the text written in this book explains how and why the body moves using anatomical definitions. Most of this I have found of little use. The last section on Drapery has actually been very helpful. For the price of this book the information contained in it is worth it. It is a very dry(It might be anatomy books in general) read which has helped me take a few naps in the process of reading this book. The morpho series by Michel lauricella is far better in my opinion if you just want some practice/reference pictures.

Review: A good portion of the drawings are poorly scanned and/or seem to be enlarged, making many of them harder to make out (especially the section on folds). The scanner might have also had a hard time picking up the pencil marks. The photos i posted look better than the actual drawings in the book.I also find it odd, and a bit telling that my cover has the gold, sticker looking circle on the cover, but the words are missing.

Review: This book contains all Bridgman books. Unlike previous “complete editions,” this 5th edition, organizes everything and even uses a “red ink for type that applies to highlights of important areas on illustrations &/or notes! Furthermore, this edition is laid out in a manner that is far, far, easier to follow (especially for beginners). I know, I could not believe it myself initially!This is a must own for artists studying anatomy, regardless the edition or individual books. That said… this 5th edition complete is again… by far, the best version made to date.

Review: I honestly can’t believe what a good deal this book is! The information contained within it is timeless. The man who authored it died in 1943, but his lessons are as solid today as they were then. I feel no need to write a lengthy review. If you’re looking for a book to guide you through sketching the human form as if it is in motion, and use continuously as a reference guide, you simply can’t get a better deal than this book.

Review: The time period of the language is difficult to understand, but that’s okay, because I didn’t buy it for reading. I was looking for the techniques of a Master artist. I looked at the drawings and I cannot tell what many of them are. I can’t see any discernible technique or the method of completing any drawing that was done. I’ve realized that I don’t want to draw anything like him anyway. I wouldn’t be surprised if he had no hands and was drawing with his foot. I returned the book.
