The elderly and disabled will benefit enormously from self driving vehicles. While electric scooters and dockless bikes are good last mile services for some they don’t work for many types of disabilities. And while some older folks can ride a bike many get increasingly isolated as they age even with using a car. The complexity of getting out in the world can pose great limitations.
Also, different locations have different limitations. Manhattan is very different than Montclair, NJ in terms of traffic and density. LA has great weather for things like scooters, though how will would they work in a Montreal winter?
