Hi Felix,
I’m all for Strategic Designers if it caters to the professionals’ strengths and there’s clear business benefit in having such a role exist. Could you copy/paste the URL’s of the articles here so I can read them too?
Ideally, you’d like to have a ‘designer’ role and keep it fairly vanilla up front. Then, you can customize the role based on the talent, and write a job description that both the professional and the business can agree to that puts both parties’ interests and long term goals within the job description.
That’s been happening here and there, but that should be the future of hiring. If it’s more of a discussion on how each the professional can ride a growth curve while the company achieves it’s business goals through the employee/contractors outputs, that’s a great win-win.
How does that sound?
