I have never (still?) joined to these courses. But what I can say is that after 4 courses 6 months, my wife has changed completely taking disruptive decissions affecting her, my and our lifes forever. Crazy decissions heading to a pressumably estimated level of happiness and illumination to break out the samskaras pointing lo live the moment and only the current moment. It does seem that the consequences and effects are not important: all must be seen with this “equanime” perspective.

Needless to say the amount of articles describing the poor level of mentoring and coaching for principiants in these Vipassana Ghoenka courses and the collateral probable and potential effects such as de-realiaztion, disociation, regression between others. Poor support for non experienced “students”. No doubts about positive effects of the meditation BUT I CAN SAY that this method can cause the reality to be lost.

After 4 months of “fight” trying to understand what my wife found in these retreats, I can say, that I have lost her after 21 years of trully and full happiness and REAL illumination. She is/was a Banker at Senior Management level and now she leaves to break the rules leaving her job, his man hoping to live from the air.

Thanks for the article and thanks for the blog.

Warm regards
