A lot of stuff here but some of it is a bit off. First, capitalism and socialism are not recent inventions. They have both been with us since our hunter gatherer days. Someone makes some better arrowheads and trades it for some deer skins — that’s free enterprise. The tribal elders enforce the bargain when the hunter tries to renege-that’s capitalism. The elders ensure that all the children are fed from the day’s hunt-that’s socialism. The mix between socialism and capitalism will vary with time and jurisdiction but modern governments need a mix of both to be successful. There is no utopia where capitalism gives way to socialism.
We do give all of our citizens a basic “wage.” In fact much of the recent political angst stems from the recent, substantial increase in our “safety net” to include a type of medical benefit. The conservative backlash against this is in part how we ended up with trump.
There is no crisis. We are not headed toward Fascism. Trump is a rather ineffective aberration in the advancement of our society.
Dystopian films and the Game of Thrones don’t really inform much about the future of democracy.
