I have some real problems with your article. First, you make some rather sweeping assertions that are not rally supported. Concern about pornography is NOT high, except in some puritanical religous denominations. Compared to real problems like depression, alcohol abuse, opiod addiction etc., the concern about pornopgraphy has been waning over the last decade or so. Most of the “negatives” you purport to be “substantial” were hyped at one time but now are more “slightly consequential” if still regarded as negatives at all. All of the ills you mentioned were predicted to become horriffic 30–40 years ago as the availability of pornography became ubiquitous. The millenial generation has grown up with free, hard core pornography instantly available on every computer, tablet, and phone. The result? Sexual assault, sexual harassment, and a host of other ills that were prdicted to explode have mostly declined. The reference for the “pervasive” ills you cite is from 1984. Pornography consumption has increased maybe a 100 fold since then and I think that womens rights have continued to advance over those years.
Your correlation between breakups and pornography may be of some interest but is largely irrelevant. People are not going to give up pornography because its use might correlate with “breakups.” You and the moralstic theocrats may bemone the situation but the progress of our mores about sexuality will continue to advance from notions of damnable sin to a nice diversion (in moderation).
How do men expeerience fewer breakups? Are gays more committed to their partners than lesbians?
