I Thought Gay Celibacy Was My Only Option — I Was Wrong
Patrick Gothman

I can’t tell you how powerful your words hit me. As an ex-Mormon, I resonate with so much of what you have gone through. I was a missionary for 2 years, knowing I was gay, yet trying so hard to pray the gay away and believing the words of the Prophets that I would be cured of this “evil and wicked” part of me. Of course, nothing changed, and I also fell into deep depression and suicidal thoughts. Your words are powerful and can help more than just the Catholic youth. Thank you for sharing with us. And I’m sharing it with others too.
