Books I read in Summer 2018

Back again with the books, removing the Summer dust from Medium :)

  • Elegant Objects: Volume 2. In the same line as the first one, some of the ideas were really nice and some of them I strongly disagreed. I think I’ll write a post about both volumes because they have a lot of interesting stuff.
  • Continuous Delivery: Reliable Software Releases through Build, Test, and Deployment Automation. This is being my DevOps year, I think I read like 4 books with Jez Humble or Gene Kim in the author’s list. The book is kinda old (8 years I think) and a lot of stuff has probably changed, but it gives you the basic in great detail. How to build a deployment pipeline, writing tests, choosing a build tool, working with git (in trunk!) and many many things. The book was a little bit hard to read because the topic was similar to the others I have read recently, but definitely worth reading.

And continuing with the books from my childhood:

  • Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban.
  • Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.
  • The Chronicles of Narnia: The Magician’s Nephew
  • The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe
