As the first woman who has received the prestigious Pritzker Architecture Prize, an icon in architectural world, British Iraqi Architect Zaha Mohammad Hadid who unexpectedly passed away in 2016, has numerous world known, spectacular architectural masterpieces. However some works remain overlooked.

Here are the top 3 buildings that in my opinion didn’t get the attention they deserved.

Capital Hill Residence

The project is located in Barvikha, Russia. Within this spectacular location the villa is divided into two main parts, one of which is located 22 meters above the ground for it’s inhabitants to admire the dynamic views of the Barvikha forest over the trees. The program is organized vertically on four levels. The lower level is envisioned as leisure space; this level includes a living room, massage and fitness areas as well as sauna and hammam baths. One level up, main living room, dining, kitchen, entertainment, indoor swimming room and parking spaces are located on the ground floor. The main entrance lobby, study/library, guest room and children’s room are distributed on the first floor while the master bedrooms and a lounge with exterior terrace occupy the upper level.

Salerno harbor station

Salerno Maritime Terminal serves ferries and cruise liners at the Salerno port in Italy. The project can accomodate 500,000 commuters a year.

The new maritime terminal continues the city’s association with the Mediterranean waters and establishes new links as it connects Salerno’s rich maritime traditions with its historic urban fabric and beyond to the hills that surround the city.

Resembling an oyster, the terminal’s hard, asymmetric shell protects the softer elements within; Protecting passengers from the intense coastal sun during the popular tourist season.
The new maritime terminal is organized of three main parts.

Those are administration offices for national border controls and shipping lines, the terminal for international ferries and cruise ships from around the world and the terminal for the local and regional ferries.

Leeza SOHO tower

The tower is unique for its world’s tallest atrium. The 45-storey office building is located to the southwest of Beijing.

The skyscraper is made up of two separate towers joined by dramatic skybridges at four points.

Both halves of the tower are encased by the double-insulated glass façade in a single cohesive body. The glass curtain wall system steps the glazing units on each floor at an angle, hence it allows ventilation registers to draw outside air through an operable cavity when it’s needed. This helps maintain a comfortable inside despite unpredictable external weather conditions.
