Glimpse into Rubify: Overseas Training

“Even if you only work here for one day, you will know that why I call Rubify my Family.”

Taken on 20 June 2016 at an American Diner called OverEasy, at Orchard Road, Singapore

Hello, my name is Rex. I am a Ruby on Rails Developer from Vietnam. During mid June 2016, I made an overseas trip to Singapore for training, which includes attending Red Dot Ruby conferences.

I went to Singapore with two other colleagues who are also Ruby on Rails Developers. During our two weeks of training, we had learnt a lot of things from everyone. Singaporeans are generally civilised and friendly. The streets very clean. Citizens are law abiding.

Our training was pretty intense. We started our day at 9 am and end at 9 pm everyday. Our fellow colleagues in our Singapore Office treated us very warmly. During working hours, they were very focused at work. We were also influenced by the hardworking culture in our Singapore Office. Outside working hours, they took time out to take us to places of interests in Singapore. We ate a lot of famous Singapore cuisine. Apart from that, we visited Singapore’s Gardens by the Bay. If you’ve watched the movie Hitman: Agent 47, you must have caught a scene filmed in that location.

Thrilled to have met the creator of Ruby, Yukihiro Matsumoto (Matz) at Red Dot Ruby Conference 2016 in Singapore.

We attended the Red Dot Ruby conference held in Singapore. It is one of the leading conferences of Ruby on Rails. The Father of Ruby, Yukihiro Matsumoto (Matz), graced the event, alongside with many Rails experts. We were thrilled and honoured to have met him in person. There were many topics on the latest technologies and useful methods on improve your tech skill, which will help in your web development projects.

I have many things to share with you but I guess I should stop at here, because if you are interested, I should tell you more when you join us. Even if you work here for only one day, you will know why I call Rubify is my Family.

Thanks for reading this.
