“Language is no longer a barrier when we are one family.”

My name is Amy, I am a Vietnamese Web Developer from the family of Rubify Technology. I just made an overseas training trip to beautiful Singapore for 2 weeks. It is neither a short nor long period of time, but it is enough to give me beautiful memories. Let me tell you about my wonderful trip.

Coming along on this work trip with me are Mio and Kuma, who are our UI Designers. We are of similar ages as me, so we get along very well.

Even though the time spent in Singapore passed very quickly, I had learnt a lot of things and gained valuable experience. Especially learning from James, our Coding Shifu (which means a skilful person or Master in Chinese), at Rubify. It is not just about learning the programming language, but also the ability to analyse and solve problems. What I have learnt is definitely not found books as they are from learnings from practical experiences. On top of that, we met our clients in person to listen directly to their needs and at the same time, provide our thoughts in order to deliver the best final product possible from our team.

This is my first time in Singapore and everything is new and fresh to me. The trains move around the city. Singapore’s culture is pleasant and people are civilised. Everybody in our Singapore office took very good care of us. Our English is not good but it is not a hindrance because everyone makes an effort to understand us. And we instantly became their Vietnamese teachers! On the weekends, we visited famous places of interest in Singapore, namely River Safari, where the endangered pandas and many other types of animals are housed and Sentosa island which is very beautiful.

After spending more than 2 weeks in Singapore, we returned to Vietnam. Everything in Singapore, such as the MRT stations, Tampines, Kembangan, Bugis, and the newly made friends felt like yesterday. The night before we left for Vietnam, we had a crazy time with beer and music.

Language is no longer a barrier when we are one family.

And so, yesterday has passed. Today has come, while tomorrow will come. Looking forward to what lies ahead for us!

Word hard, play hard. We are Rubify, we are Family.

Bye bye Singapore, see you soon. I will be back :)
