Infrastructure

The Donald’s Kiss of Death?

“Trump economic team’s ideas would be an initiative to boost infrastructure spending, which would probably be funded in part by a one-off tax deal to encourage the repatriation of US companies’ $1.2tn in overseas cash.” (Link)

After Trump loses, does his support of infrastructure spending paid for by taxing repatriated profits give the remaining Republicans (simplified down to “Paul Ryan”) cover to oppose this measure and hold the line on “no new taxes”?

One could see a Freedom Caucus member saying “Trump tried it. Tax & Spend was rejected by our voters.”
