No they don’t, but once it is done, there’s no coming back from it. That is why any teacher must be aware of what he or she is doing in class and keep on believing in his or her purpose. This is when our profession comes close to a doctor’s. It is going to hurt a little but we just have to do it. Also, that is why we teachers need a back up group, a supportive team and constant reading, studying and reflection upon our own practice, not to mention research in the great social lab which is classroom. Teachers are suppose to be mind agitaters, unsettlers. That has never been an easy job.
