A Moment in the Sky

Suddenly, I stopped thinking
about my future, my age,
my children and how long
so many nights have been.

I asked the flight attendant

“How high are we?”

“About 13,000 feet” he said

Moments come and go.
They fall at your feet and lie
in a buried life.

The rest just slept,
it had been a long flight.

I saw the clouds pass by

“When I was a child I thought
I could walk on the clouds” said the flight attendant.
The wisdom of youth
sweeping through his mind.

So I went back to my seat
to listen to Kraftwerk
and Autobahn.
