When Two Worlds Collide

The best place to read and share poetry is on the internet… well maybe? I have written a couple of short opinion pieces on the exclusive nature of some poetry forums on Medium. My view is that the selective and culturally biased nature of some of these groups, limits the development and dissemination of poetry to a wider audience . So this morning I tried a small experiment. I wrote a poem and posted this to Medium.
My last six or seven pieces of work have received no interest at all. Not a single look from anyone. OK…no problem with this. This poem received no looks, no readings and no acknowledgements.
It could just be that no one is interested.
Or that people are busy.
Or any number of reasons…but to have no interest at all I found strange.
So I posted the same poem to another poetry forum. I have posted many poems to this forum in the past. Within a short time a number of people responded to the poem. It was placed in the exceptional poetry category as well as the Poetry Journal section of the forum.
Now I am not sure what this indicates…..yet.
But maybe it indicates that the best place to read and share poetry is on some poetry forums that are inclusive?
