All thanks to the writer Moon Ji-won, who highlighted the autism spectrum by switching focus to the daily challenges an autistic person encounters. Nonetheless, the whole team did a great job but the director Yoo-In-shik is the real dark horse behind such a masterpiece.

The basic touchstone of this drama is the Woo Young Woo’s character. The straight-A Seoul National University struggles with autism and developmental disorder to speak or socialize freely in society reveals another side of her personality.

This is a legal-based drama starring talented Park Eun-bin as Woo Young-woo and diligent Kang Tae-oh as Lee Jun-ho as leading characters. Due to their amazing on-screen chemistry, the couple has become the heartthrob of millions.

Underscoring the social stigmas related to non-verbal persons plus giving in-depths of the Korean Law system, makes it worthwhile to watch.

  • The Revolving Door :

The revolving door scene is the first thing to consider in this drama. In the first episode, Woo Young Woo seems to be somewhat off about the revolving door. And the avid viewers have noticed it too.

This shows the struggles of an autistic person to deal with social skills. Usually, autistic people find it difficult to deal with everyday tasks that seem normal to others. Revolving door is also one among them. Here, the door thing is also related to her daily life challenges.

While she’s having a hard time with the revolving door, the attitude of other characters is also another notable thing. A viewer said, “The people around her ignored her and didn’t offer any help. Later these characters also get rude with Woo Young woo”.

Afterward, the Hanbada employee Lee Jun-ho helped her. As the two walk together to work, Lee Joon-ho holds the door for her. This is what you’d call “The beginning of soulful love”.

So, it is a huge miss from the first episode, if you don’t notice the “Rhythm of Revolving Door”.

  • Heal with the Whales:

Another worth-mentioning fact is the passionate love of Woo Young Woo’s for cetaceans. From the very first episode, she was seen indulging with the whales and dolphins. The viewers find it thought-provoking.

Here the writer did a very good job of describing the unique and beautiful insights of an autistic person. Since Woo Young Woo is also fantasizing about things like sea creatures, netizens came up with thoughtful theories.

One of them shared the idea that “Just because whales are sturdy and tend to live a free life, same is the case with Woo Young woo.”

In the sixth episode, Woo Young Woo and Choi Soo-yeon have a chat about the whales. While working on a North Korean defector case. While Woo Young explains the mama whale’s affinity with the babies.

She said to Soo-yeon,”Whales are intelligent. She knows that she will also be ki;lled if she doesn’t abandon her baby. But she never does. If I were a whale, would my mom not have abandoned me?” And, Soo-yeon gave an apologetic expression.

She relates herself to the whales but her situation is quite opposite to theirs since she was abandoned by her mother.

Later, in the episode, viewers can see Woo Young Woo almost run into Tae Soo-mi, her biological mother.

  • You’re Spring Sunshine!

One of the most touching moments is between Choi Su-yeon and Woo Young-woo. netizens have also found it the most heartwarming thing of the drama.

One viewer commented “This kdrama has set a new yardstick for the second female lead. It’s one of the most beautiful female friendships kdrama has given us. Bromance is good but thi is

Gold.”

The other said, “This is how we should build our women’s culture. Lifting each other up and not tearing each other down. And Woo Young-woo has proved it for all of us.”

In episode 5, Woo Young-woo visits the cafeteria and joins Choi Soo-yeon, her law school fellow and current Hanbada colleague. She asks Woo Young-woo about what’s special about her coming to the cafeteria. And Woo Young told her, “Today’s dinner is Gimbap”.

Then, Su-yeon helped her open the bottle cap. The scene proceeds and they talk about the attorney Kwon Min-woo.

Wo Young-woo tells Su-yeon that attorney Min-woo calls her Wild Card Woo Young-woo. Su-yeon asked her,” Make me a one(nickname).” And kept asking her various nicknames like, How about Babyface Choi Su-yeon? Or..Most Beautiful; Choi Su-yeon?” but Woo Young-woo rejected everything.

Su-yeon again asked, “Then what am I?” After thinking for a while, Woo Young-woo said, “You’re like the spring sunshine.”

She continues, “I’ve thought so ever since we were in law school. You told me where the lecture hall was, when class was canceled, and when the test material changed. You tried to stop other students from making fun of me or bullying me. Even now, you open my water bottles for me and tell me that you’ll let me know when they serve gimbap again.” she added, “You’re a bright, warm, kind and sweet person. Youre Spring Sunshine Su-yeon.”

Thus, this meaningful gesture knocked off the second lead syndrome.

  • Rivalry of female CEOs:

In this drama, there is another interesting thing, the law firm CEO’s feud. As the writer has not given any flashbacks or a particular background, it has left the viewers in a faze.

Someone posted, “ The reason for the female CEOs feud is not a big cheese at all. All of us are fully aware that Hanbada and Taesan are renowned law firms and competitors too. Thus, their rivalry is not uncommon.”

all the ambiguity ended, with an unreleased video i.e., “Hanbada Vs. Taessan, big hands that move the war!”

In the hotel lobby, Seon-young found that Tae Soo-mi was getting appointed as the Minister of Justice.

She went to Tae Soo-mi angrily and asked about the law ministry thing. Both ladies bump heads and then in response to her rival, Tae Soo-mi satirically said, “Oh? What flaw do I have? Stealing Hanbada’s client?Or taking away you man and making him my husband? I’m sorry, but that’s all the past”.

Talking back to her, Seon-young replied,” I’m not talking about things you did with your true self. It’s about the mistake you made with an unusual decision unlike how Tae Soo-mi would do. Pure love during college days? The fruit of ;love, don’t you remember? Be careful.”

Most importantly, the reaction of Tae Soo-mi at the end of this discussion was miserable though. The viewers can figure out what’s cooking on!

  • Mr.Woo Gwang-ho — the unsung hero:

The storyline offers a subtle realization of troubled relationships and their adverse effect on the offspring. Also, the writer has highlighted the role of a single father Woo Gwang-ho raising a child with Aspergers Syndrome.

Besides, the poignant one was the flashback scene of Woo-GwanG-ho and Tae Soo-mi.

The scene started when Woo Young-woo refused to join Hanbada and argued with her father. She mentioned to her father about the offer from the Taesan group. As soon as he heard of Tae Soo-mi, he forbade Woo Young-woo to do that by telling her that she was her mother. In the meantime, she tripped and fell. Later her father told her the whole story.

He told Woo Young-woo, “ I lied about your mom passing away while giving birth to you.” But she already knew that as her grandmother told her, “ She ruined my son’s life and ran away.” They continued talking and the father added, “ I’m the son of a poor farmer. But Soo-mi is the daughter of the founder of Taesan and somehow ended up liking each other. “

Then there is a flashback where Tae Soo-mi and Woo Gwang-ho appear. Gwag-ho wants to stop her but she pushes him. Then He said to her, “if you just have the baby, i’ll take the baby and disappear. I won’t take the bar. I wont do anything. I’ll make sure you never see us.”

In ep 8, Soo-mi agreed to the imploring of Woo Gwang-ho. She handed over the baby to him,m and disappeared. Since the baby was out of wedlock, Soo-mi tried to hide it for political reasons.

Indeed he is the unsung hero of this drama.

Conclusion:

Summing it up, Extraordinary Attorney Woo has earned a record watchtime from different social forums.

There is a new buzz in the town that there will be a season 2 of this drama. About the release date, 2024 is the expected year. However, the ENA network has not confirmed anything yet.
