Day 0 of Double Jaw Surgery Recovery

Surgery day was 2/17. Mr. Em drove me to Kaiser Santa Clara at 6:30am. I was submitted and prepped quickly. Surgery started at 8:30.

My surgery involved creating a wedge-shaped space on my upper jaw in order to create an extra tooth space for a permanent implant. The lower jaw was mostly taken care of by my braces, but needed to shift backwards a little to fix the underbite.

For the wedged space must be filled with bone graft, we ended up using my own bone, cut from the inside of the ends of my lower jaw bone, hence not effecting the outer shape of my face.

As soon as I received anesthesia I was out with in a minute. Woke up after they pulled me out of the operating room. The hospital room was not ready until hours later.
