STAND UP PADDLE- The new tourism attraction

SUP in RIVER, is an active tourism company, a pioneer in promoting and expert in the practice of stand up paddle (SUP) within Portugal. Offers a set of experiencies focused on the teaching and practice of this sport, aims to promote and develop the SUP as an activity accessible to all. It has the ambition to be a reference in the services offered instruction and training in the stand up paddle area in Portugal, developing according to the needs of each client programs.
SUP in RIVER is formed by a multidisciplinary team certified by International entities such as IO-SUP and ASI, with more than 20 years of experience in the practice and teaching of Stand Up Paddle. Extremely competent the SUP in RIVER whose main concern is security, then the passion for business and good mood, creating a pleasant environment among all our customers and visitors. SUP (Stand Up Paddle) offers multiple benefits for health. It can be seen as a moment of deep relaxation and leisure or become a sport. It is essentially an activity for all ages and provides excellent moments with friends or family in touch with nature.

The SUP tours are designed to bring out the best, original and authentic of our landscapes. We have several different tours from 2h to 3h. Choose one or choose all!

The sport that has captured the famous all over the world, helps burn up to 350 calories per hour. It works the cardiovascular system, balance, tone the upper and lower muscles, helps you lose weight and combat stress!

The practice of SUP is a comprehensive body of work, despite having a recreational side. The balance of work on the unstable surface is constant and involves the whole body, which challenges our skills and muscles.

HISTORY

Its origin dates back to the Hawaiian islands’ 60s when called Beach Boy Surfers on the beach of Waikiki, they moved on their long boards, paddle with canoe paddles, with the aim of taking photographs to tourists learning to surf. 
The Stand up paddle board should also its roots to the peoples of Polynesia and Hawaii, when they moved up and paddling in their narrow canoes between islands of these archipelagoes.
