In everything we do, there’s an opportunity. A better way to do things. Complacency is the enemy of excellence. It’s easy to be complacent when we’re no longer present and not fully engaged in the task at hand.

In your relationships, in your communications, in your work, in your daily duties, you will find an abundance of opportunities for improvement. You can choose to work on just one thing to begin with and watch the changes compound over time.

Don’t settle for good enough.

When Arnold Schwarzenegger was crushing the bodybuilding contests, he’d still ask the judges at the end of each competition after winning, What were my weak points? What were my strong points?

You can start with asking yourself this question once a day. You can ask yourself this when you find yourself doing something mindlessly.

Maybe the way you talk with your colleague. The way you read a book. The way you approach a work project. The way you go pump iron. The way you approach learning. The way you’re handling constructive feedback.

A variation of this is, Have I Given This Everything I’ve Got?

If not, why?

There’s always room for improvement in every aspect of life.

Ask yourself, How Can I Do This Better?
