The thing that we avoid the most tends to be the thing that we need to prioritize. Reflect on this and spend some time to think about what you’ve been putting off.

If you’re working in sales and you’re procrastinating on generating leads because you don’t want to pick up the phone, that’s something you need to do first thing in the morning. Maybe it’s a difficult conversation with your partner about something you’re not comfortable addressing but needs to be resolved. Maybe you’re dragging your feet on making an important decision. Maybe it’s on handling your personal finances.

The stronger the emotion, the stronger the tendency to procrastinate. Ask yourself how you can make doing the thing you’ve been procrastinating look easy. For example, you can break things down into smaller steps. Or get a friend involved.

Ask yourself, What Am I Trying To Avoid? and prioritize those things and you’ll have a satisfying feeling of accomplishment.
