Book Review: Good Vibes, Good Life — By Vex King

Good Vibes, Good Life : How Self-Love Is the Key to Unlocking Your Greatness is Vex King’s first book published on 2018. It talks about providing good vibes to ourselves by practicing self-care, overcoming toxic energy and prioritizing our well-being, to be mindful and practise meditation, strive for building positive habits which eventually will invite a positive life, trust the universe and be a shining star for ourselves. I happened to read Healing is the inner high (Vex King’s second book) on last weekend & I was totaly mesmerised by his way of writing. The writing seemed so simple and easy yet it can have profound effects on its readers. Not for once I felt bored reading that book so I planned to read his first book - Good Vibes, Good life. Vex king has a great writing method and the message given in the book is loud and clear which makes this book a worthy read!

Some of the take-aways from this book & the lines that caught my eye are-

  • Be better than who you were yesterday.
  • Self-love is the balance between accepting yourself as you are while knowing you deserve better, and then working towards it.
  • The Universe responds to your vibration. It will return whatever energy you put out.
  • Change the way you speak, think, feel and act and you begin to change your world.
  • What you consume, consumes you; what consumes you, control your life.
  • The more you count your blessings, the more blessings you’ll have to count.
  • Repitition is the key to master.
  • Your longest relationship in life is with yourself. Only when you manage this relationship well can you manage your relationship with others.
  • We make life all about a future that exists only in our imagination and completely miss what’s happening infront of us.
  • Every second you spend thinking about next moment you avoid embracing the present- Ensure your life isn’t lived entirely in your head.
  • Ignoring negative emotions is like keeping poison in your system. Learn to understand everything that you feel. The aim isn’t to put positive thoughts, but to transform the negative ones into something healthier, so you can feel better.
  • Always review your behaviours and make an effort to change anything that are toxic towards yourself or others. This isn’t only how you grow, its also an act of self-love. You are showing yourself that you deserve better than the behaviours limiting your progress.
  • Before you try to fix soneone else’s vibe, make sure you’re not killing your own in the process. Protect your own energy first.
  • You won’t be important to other people all the time, and that’s why you have to be important to yourself. Learn to enjoy your own company. Take care of yourself. Encourage positive self-talk and become your own support system. Your needs matter, so start meeting them yourself. Don’t rely on others.
  • Accept what has happened. Breathe it in, breathe it out and let it go. You’re only human and you’re allowed to continue with life regardless of the magnitude of the mistake.
  • Beating yourself up will not change the situation. Its what you strive for next that matters most.
  • If you can't change the situation change your perception of it. That's why your personal power is either be controlled - or be in control.
  • It is your subconscious mind that is responsible for your beliefs. All that you perceive is a result of what you accept as true in your subconscious mind.
  • Your goal isn't to get rid of negative thoughts, its to change your response to them.
  • Our beliefs are like a lens we use to view life, we see what we convince ourselves is true.
  • Escape Your mental limitations. Don't spend your life being imprisoned by a belief system that limits your potential and prevent your dreams from coming true.
  • What you verbalize will eventually materialize, you have the power to talk aspects of your reality into existence.
  • Words can hurt, help or heal. There is power in everything you write and say. Your message is significant. Be wise with it.
  • What becomes real in your mind will become real in your life.
  • Don't worry about how it's going to happen, otherwise you’ll begin to create limitations. Just be certain about what you want and the entire universe will rearrange itself for you. Whatever the path you might be on right now, it will support you. It will provide you with the signs to get you to where you want to be.
  • Intention without action is just a wish.
  • Step out of your comfort zone and face your fears. Growth takes place when you are challenged, not when you are comfortable.
  • You don't need it all figured out. The more you think you do, the more you’ll procrastinate and fear moving forward. Have courage and start now, even if you start small. Just go for it.
  • No matter how much you worry, your problem isn’t going to improve. Be wiser with your attention and energy. You can only step up in the world once you put your anxities, fears, worries under your feet.
  • Sometimes all we have is our faith- our faith in the fact that things are going to get better. Hang on to it and keep believing even if that means you are the only one who does.
  • Embrace good vibes and learn to let things flow. There is no need to force outcomes. Once you are in harmony with the universe, what’s meant to be yours will come to you.
  • Rejections are just redirections to better things.
  • Learn to let go and let things flow.
