Hope you had a good holiday week and feel rested ahead of the crap that’s to come.

We had a short week, too, but you all know better than anyone that holiday weekends are great for campaigning…

We loved this quick reflection on one year of campaigning from Anna Eskamani in Florida.

Running for office takes being yourself. It takes remembering where you come from and who you are. It takes grit and grace. It takes asking for guidance, but also trusting your gut.

Looking for a 3 minute video that will make you feel hopeful? Onward Together put together a recap of the convening we had a few months back that encompasses all the work we’re doing along with the groups we’re proud to partner with.

Speaking of our supporters: We’re so proud to announce that out of more than 700 applications, we’ve been chosen as one of 13 groups New Media Ventures will be funding this summer. (We also like that Politico calls us “buzzy.” Like bees!)

If you need a podcast this week, we sat down with Gaby Dunn for her podcast, Bad With Money, to talk about why you don’t have to be rich to run for office.

Relatedly, I highly encourage to read this quick Twitter thread from Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez on the dangers of “viability.”

You all know: We have strong feelings on this topic. “Viability” (and the primary metric used to determine it, fundraising success) is a term used to keep underrepresented communities, especially young women and people of color, from having a chance to succeed. That’s why when we look to do endorsements, we don’t look at how much money someone’s raised or what any polling might say. We look at how exciting and passionate a candidate is, and how much voter contact they’re doing. So far, seems to be as good a measurement as anything else!

We’re going to have more good news to perk you up this week, so keep an eye on your inbox. I promise — it’ll be the bright spots amongst the garbage.

Thanks for making all this possible! Lucky to work alongside you.

Oh, and P.S.: If you’re in the Hamptons on July 21st, join us for dinner. It’ll be fun!

Stay caught up on the good vibes:
