A possible 7 ‘s’ analysis will bring up more factors, but I attribute poor management, organisational structure and a lack of vision as primary sources for an urgency over purpose environment. Many manger precipitate a scene of urgency as a cover for their mediocrity. One big stress factory that benefits nobody.
Reduce stress at work, focus on ‘less is more’ portfolio management and you might find your organisation producing better value for all stakeholders and being more competitive. Might also be fun.
It is my take, but good business practice is a philosophy, an attitude to life and work and not just a bunch of charts and processes.
