Growing apart from someone you love dearly is something that’s not unique to me, but is both excruciating and lonely. Whether it’s your best friend or an ex, it can be hard growing apart from someone who means a lot to you or did at one point in time. Though it is still painful, growing apart from someone usually happens for a good reason, whether you’re no longer compatible or whether you’ve simply become different people. It’s important to remember, just because you no longer have a friendship or relationship with someone, it doesn’t mean you can’t care about them…

Did you know that women are less likely to apply for ‘stretch roles’ when it comes to job applications, despite the fact that they’re more likely to be hired for a job when compared to a man applying for that exact same position? View the source of that information in Women only apply for jobs when 100% qualified. Fact or fake news.

Finding out this information has changed my life, and it could change yours too. I no longer thought “I only meet some of these requirements.” Now I think “The worst they can say is no.” The worst anyone…

Utilize Social Media

Social media is a great place to start when it comes to book bloggers, book reviewers and blogging in general! If you’re on the hunt to find book bloggers to reach out to, whether you’re doing a cover reveal, book blitz, launch day celebration or something else entirely I suggest you head to Twitter! Twitter is full of writers, and readers. In addition to Twitter, you can find many book bloggers and reviewers on Instagram.

Who’s Following Who?

In addition to using the search feature, take a look your profile. You might be surprised by all the bloggers and readers that you follow…

Reading books is an amazing hobby, but did you know there are tons of ways you can support an author as a reader? Leaving a review is just one of several great ways you can support the authors in your life. If your budget is small, a great way to help the authors you love, without spending a fortune is to share their social media posts.

Leave a Review

Reviewing is one of the best ways you can support authors. I don’t think it comes as a surprise that reviews help convince other readers to pick up the book, help garner interest when…

I am a huge advocate for writers working together, I think having relationships with writers in your genre can be helpful at many points in a writer’s career. Newsletter swaps, social media interaction and support during book launches are just a few of many ways you can work with other authors.

Newsletter Swaps

Newsletter swaps is one of my favorite ways to help my clients collaborate with other writers. It allows each writer to reach readers that they may not have otherwise, while also helping out a fellow author.

Share Social Media

Social media is a great way to work with other authors whether in…

Recently I have decided to take the initiative to live a healthier lifestyle. Drink more water, less soda, eat more fruits and vegetables and overall make healthier decisions. Doing this daily has allowed me to make it habit, and therefore be more successful. This is why you should do something every day.

Make it a Priority

Want to do something like meditate (here’s a link to my favorite meditation app) or gratitude journal every single day? You need to make it a priority. I add my gratitude journaling as an event in my phone and on my daily planner every single day, and I…

It can be hard to know when it’s time to reach out and ask for help, but there are a few ways you can find out if it’s a good idea. Things like not having time to write, or market your books are huge clues that you could use some assistance. In addition to those cues, being overwhelmed, and experiencing analysis paralysis are also great indicators that you might need more help.

Are You Out of Time?

Not having enough of time is possibly the biggest indicator that it’s time to ask for some help. If you don’t have time to work on your next…

I haven’t always struggled with my weight as I do now, but I have always struggled with self-image. I remember being 130 pounds and feeling like I was overweight and unattractive then, despite the fact that I was ghostly thin. I specifically remember choosing not to eat because I didn’t want to gain any more weight. It wasn’t until I met my husband and felt loved as I was that I started eating ‘normally’ and putting on weight. I sure did put it on, though.

In the span of four years, I went from a size six to a size…

While it seems like something incredibly obvious, I didn’t realize for a long time that you don’t have to be miserable. You need to be seeking out things that bring you joy, and saying no to the things that don’t, even if it means not hanging out with that cousin you can’t stand.

Stop Forcing It

When I say “Stop forcing it” I mean anything and everything. Stop forcing yourself to go to that job you hate and find something that fulfils you. …
