Thanks Chandrashekar, Kanchan Chauhan for responding. And all those who responded to me privately and on other platforms, I am touched.
The idea of the post was not to be depressing. Being in India and being able to do something that is best in the world is a challenge that fires me up every morning. Contradictions are a part of everyone’s life and every decision means leaving something behind.
It’s like climbing a mountain or solving a tough problem. Its not always fun, but very satisfying.
There are beautiful things in the day too. In the mornings, I usually take my son for a walk in the neighbourhood park. Luckily I live in a slightly green part of the city and there are always sparrows and cuckoos and parrots chirping around. The tropical rain trees and majestic and every season is wonderful.
I am also lucky have great family support, my wife and parents have been pillars of strength. I am also lucky to be working with wonderful people and lucky to be appreciated by everyone who uses our work. Apart from all of that, we are all extremely privildged to be living in an age where you are never far from learning or getting access to the best human achievements whether in music or television or writing. Clearly there is a lot to be grateful for. Maybe a more balanced post for next time :)
