Installing Photoshop cs6 in Arch Linux

Finally after a week of back-breaking efforts, I managed to run photoshop cs6 on arch.

There are various methods possible to run windows apps

• virtual machine
• wine
• playonlinux
• crossover (paid)

Playonlinux method worked on linux mint, but idk why that didn’t work on arch.

So Lets proceed with wine. ☺

Install wine and winetricks

sudo pacman -S wine winetricks

Usingwinetricks install these packages

winetricks atmlib gdiplus msxml3 msxml6 vcrun2005 vcrun2005sp1 vcrun2008 ie6 fontsmooth-rgb gecko

Now wine is configured

Run

wine Setup.exe

to install photoshop

My Versions(Refer only if the above method doesn’t work for your versions)

wine version :3.4

photoshop: search for chingLiu’s version if the one which you have doesn’t work
