Energy Web (EWT) Contract Swap

2 min read6 days ago

there is a migration / swap for Energy Web Token (EWT). But it’s not exactly a “contract re‑deployment” in the classic sense: it’s more of a chain migration / token bridging / lowering from the EWT Chain to the Ethereum network (ERC‑20).

SWAP HERE

What’s Going On With EWT (Energy Web)

  1. EWT Chain Shutdown / Migration
  2. . * According to KuCoin, the project is disabling the EWT Chain as of November 11, 2025.
  3. . * KuCoin will automatically migrate users’ EWT tokens from the EWT Chain to the Ethereum (ERC‑20) version.
  4. . * After the migration, the old EWT on the EWT Chain will no longer be supported on KuCoin.
  5. 2. Token Lowering (For Wallet Holders)
  6. . * On the Energy Web documentation, there is a “lowering” process described: you “lower” tokens from EWT on EWX (their chain) to the ERC‑20 Ethereum version.
  7. . * Steps for lowering (per their docs):
  8. . 1. Schedule a lower → you pick how many EWT to convert / lower.
  9. . 2. Wait ~24 hours for the lowering to be executed.
  10. . 3. Then claim the lowered amount to your Ethereum address.
  11. . * When claiming, you need to pay gas on Ethereum (since you’re receiving ERC‑20 EWT). And you must make sure the recipient Ethereum address has ETH for gas.
  12. . * The contract address for the new / ERC‑20 EWT token is:

0xB66a5D30D04f076E78ffB0d045C55846Fdcde928

. *

(as per Energy Web documentation)

🔧 What You Should Do (If You Hold EWT)

  • If your EWT is on KuCoin:
  • . * You don’t need to do anything manually. According to KuCoin, they are handling the migration automatically. 1
  • . * But don’t deposit to EWT Chain after the migration date — deposits & withdrawals on EWT Chain will be closed.
  • * If your EWT is in a wallet:
  • . * Use the Energy Web “Lower Tokens” function (via their official app / portal) — schedule a lowering, then claim to your Ethereum address.
  • . * Make sure you connect a wallet that supports both EWT Chain and Ethereum.
  • . * Ensure you have enough ETH in the Ethereum address to pay for gas when claiming.
  • * Verify Everything:
  • . * Double-check the contract address you’re dealing with when claiming/migrating: 0xB66a5D30D04f076E78ffB0d045C55846Fdcde928 for the ERC‑20 version.
  • . * Only use official Energy Web documentation / portal for lowering — avoid untrusted third-party “swap” sites that might be phishing.
